Dr. Kathryn Poleson is a 1975 graduate of Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry. A Diplomate of the ABAAHP, she joined A4M in 1998 and took and passed the examination in 1999. Dr. Poleson has previous academic appointments as an Instructor with Concordia Career Institute, Apollo College, and OHSU School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon. Presently she instructs several times per year at the Clark College School of Dental Hygiene in Vancouver, WA. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Academy of General Dentistry, in which she has earned the esteemed Mastership; the American Association of Women Dentists, the American Dental Association and state and local dental societies. She has been awarded Fellowship in the American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Academy of Dentistry International. She presently also serves as a national officer of ADI. She and Dr. David Carsten were co-founders of the Howard Memorial Program, a student case presentation program being integrated in the curriculum of dental schools nationwide. Large amounts of money have been raised with accompanying speakers and numerous charities have benefited greatly. Students participating during the past three years comment that this program is the best learning experience they have had in dental school. Dr Poleson is Editor for the Washington Academy of General Dentistry and received the Best Constituent Newsletter Award at the National Convention in July 2003. She was also chosen "Dentist of the Year 2002-2003 by the Washington Academy of General Dentistry. Her commitment to helping others is evident in the time and money she continues to give back to our profession. Dr. Poleson has played a key role in and has been instrumental in promoting Anti-Aging to her peers and patients in the dental community and in assisting with the formation of a Dental Pre-conference Track for the December 2003 A4M Conference and the continuing medical/ dental education certification by the Academy of General Dentistry. She is serving as Co-Chair for the Pre-Conference Track on The Impact of Dental Health on Anti-Aging Medicine and is currently in private practice in Vancouver, WA.
