Baltimore
MD.- J. Sook Chung, Ph.D., has joined the Center of Marine Biotechnology
as an Assistant Professor. The addition of Dr. Chung and her expertise
in crustacean molting and metabolic hormones complements the endocrine,
reproductive, and physiological projects currently available within COMB’s
Blue Crab Research Program.
Dr. Chung received her doctorate in 1991 from Texas A&M University
for work on the diuretic neurohormone of the tobacco budworm. Subsequent
research in insects involved the development of assays to characterize
the activity of the myotropic/diuretic insect kinin neuropeptide family.
