Spa packages, organic meals, custom-made jewelry - it's not exactly life in the dog house for the pampered pooches of San Mateo County.A new industry devoted to high-end pet care and nutrition is cropping up and pet owners are eating up products like dog sushi, home-baked cookies and fleece-lined beds. A raw food diet line for dogs is one of the newest offerings at Plaza de Paws in Burlingame, for example. The store also offers stylish canine tote bags, upscale bedding and a small bakery; the cookies are homemade and free of preservatives, of course.
